Direct drive asyncronous motors for turret rewinders
Vascat S.A. has recently developed a customized frameless asynchronous servomotor based on the MAC-Q 160 series for double turret rewinding drive system. The most remarkable characteristic of this motor concerns to its special hollow shaft, which allows the gearless direct driving of the coil and thereby the simplification of the system mechanical design. As a result of the close collaboration between VASCAT and customer’s technical department, important space savings has been achieved and maintenance requirements have been substantially decreased. This is just another example about how Vascat can help their customers to improve their machine performances offering flexible variable speed motor solutions to fulfil the specific requirements of each application.
Vascat spans its asynchronous servomotor portfolio: new MAC 280 and 355 frame sizes
We are glad to inform you about the expansion of the VASCAT MAC series (asynchronous motors for inverter duty). In this regard, we have incorporated to QI series (servo motors with forced ventilation type IC06 / IP23) two new motor frame sizes, with shaft heights of 280 mm and 315mm respectively. With these new sizes, the MAC series extends its power range up to 1,200 kW, offering nominal torques up to 6,750 Nm. Like the rest the MAC motors, they have a very interesting power density, so they are suitable for applications in which high power and fast dynamic responses are required. Typical examples are: testing systems, rewinders, servopresses, among others. All information regarding these two new sizes will be available soon on our website.
Update of the MCC dc motor range: new ID 280 and redesign of id 225 and ID 250 frame sizes
We are proud to announce the updating of our ID DC motor series. As most noticeable new feature we have added a new motor frame size, the ID280. With a shaft height of 280 mm, this new motor frame is available in four lengths (S, M, L and P), and it can provide powers up to 490kW, and rated torques between 3,300 and 4,480 Nm. The new size expands our solutions for high power applications, for example, sheet metal processing lines, steel lines, cranes, etc. On the other hand, we also inform about the redesign of the ID225 and ID250 frame sizes, with the aim of obtaining an improvement in our delivery times. All information is now available on our website.
New frame size spans our torque motor range: MDD 132
We are glad to inform that our synchronous PM multipole motors (Torque motors) range has been spanned. Vascat has developed a new frame size (shaft height 132mm). It will be available in several different windings with nominal speed between 170 and 1.800 rpm and nominal torque from 50 to 260 Nm. As in the other frame sizes, they will be available with two different colling systems: convection air or water-cooling system and its mounting options will be highly customisable. With this new frame size our MDD motor range will cover from 50 to 3.000 Nm (with frame size from 132 to 250 mm). This will open new possibilities towards low power applications typically required in sectors like converting, printing and packaging machines. All concerning information will be available in short on this web site.
Asynchronous vector motors for pressurized enclosures in hazardous locations
One common issue in flexographic printing presses design is the need of placing some of their drive systems in explosion risk ambient. One possibility to solve this matter is to use an explosion proof components, but this could result an expensive choice. An alternative cheaper solution is to place the electromechanical equipments in a pressurized enclosure, eliminating the explosion risk by keeping the hazardous materials outside the motor. In this sense VASCAT S.A. has recently developed a customized MAC-QX asynchronous vector motor, including a conducted ventilation system and double encoder feedback, specifically designed to work within a system that meets the ATEX Ex px certification. With this solution the machine manufacturer is able to certify the entire enclosure, so there’s no need of using individually ATEX certified components (motor, encoder, etc.). This results in a significant machine cost savings.
